Remember FLOWER for your checks:
- Fuel – Do you have enough for the trip? If needed, plan where to refuel.
- Lights – Make sure all your lights are clean and working properly.
- Oil – Know where to check engine oil and brake fluid levels.
- Water – Check screenwash, coolant, and water levels.
- Electrics – Test the battery, indicators, horn, and warning devices.
- Rubber – Ensure tyres have the right pressure, good tread depth, and are in good condition.
Lastly, always check that your brakes and steering are working before you start driving.
